The client is fan of joining Vintage and modern elements within the living space. Analyzing the spatial needs and specific style, the total design has been blended with reinforced concrete and weathered perforated steel combined with an extraordinary approach. Monolithic shaped within the planar plot with its diagonally oriented concrete facade panels, this residence intriguing embeds itself into the housing area of Anthoupolis, Nicosia like a fallen meteorite, like an earthy shell.

The brief called for a reinterpretation of the modern house in wider area of Nicosia, to addresses the family’s needs, but also relates appropriately to the site context and the Cyprus climate. By entering the house immediately finds the space intention, the material and the visual relationship of the interior with the external courtyard – living room through the great height of the house.

The interior, insulated by reinforced concrete walls and naturally ventilated, is always cool and breezy. The spaces, integrated with the courtyard landscape, are crafted by varying daylight and plants. Specific plant/tree species serve as visual cues dividing the neighboring, space definers, sensory-enhancements and therapeutic purposes. By accessing the rooms through the high-level corridor and viewing the internal double height of the house, this configuration sets a balance in terms of privacies, foster interaction and harmonious living.

The spaces offer visual connectivity among family members, offering a sense of security for children and adults. The garden also serves as insulators, and contributes to a cooler environment for the neighborhood. This house characterizes the family.
